5A02 aluminum sheet

5A02 aluminum sheet is an Al-Mg series aluminum alloy. Compared with 3A21, 5A02 aluminum sheet has higher strength, especially higher fatigue strength; similar to 3A21, it has high plasticity and corrosion resistance; Atomic welding has good weldability, and there is a tendency to crystallize cracks during argon arc welding; 5A02 aluminum sheet has good machinability in cold work hardening and semi-cold work hardening, but poor machinability in annealed state and can be polished.

The Application of 5A02 aluminum sheet

5A02 aluminum sheet is an AL-Mn alloy, which is the most widely used aluminum alloy. This alloy has high strength, especially fatigue resistance: high plasticity and corrosion resistance, and cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. It has good plasticity when hardening, low plasticity when cold work hardening, good corrosion resistance, good weldability, poor machinability, and can be polished. Mainly used for low-load parts that require high plasticity and good weldability, working in liquid or gas medium, such as fuel tanks, gasoline or lubricating oil conduits, various liquid containers and other small-load parts made by deep drawing: wire for rivets

Specification for heat treatment of 5A02 aluminum sheet

1) Homogenization annealing: heating at 440°C; holding for 12-14h; air cooling.

2) Rapid annealing: heating at 350~410℃; holding time 30~120min; air or water cooling.

3) High temperature annealing: heating at 350~420℃; when the thickness of the finished product is ≥6mm or <6mm, the holding time is 2~10min or 10~30min; air cooling.

4) Low temperature annealing: heating at 250~300℃ or 150~180℃; holding time is 1~2h, air cooling

The difference between 5A02 aluminum alloy and 5052 aluminum alloy

5052 is an Al-Mg series rust-proof aluminum alloy, which cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. The plasticity of the alloy is high, but the strength is low, and its corrosion resistance and weldability are good. The alloy has poor machinability in the annealed state.

Alloy 5052 is used for components that require good formability and corrosion resistance, high fatigue limit, good weldability, and moderate static load, such as aircraft fuel and fuel pipes, fuel tanks, and various marine and Luyun equipment parts, cold Stampings, sheet metal work, street lamp posts; material used as rivets or electrodes.
